Benefits
Less site preparation with no need to backfill or use hardcore. Ground heave and other poor site conditions
are easily overcome.
Internal foundations can be eliminated with blockwork partitions able to be built off the beams.
Once installed and  grouted, beam and block provides an immediate working platform.
Floors are easily designed to suit most requirements i.e. services, concrete staircases and timber frame structures.
Installation is less reliant on weather conditions. Can be installed all year round even when adverse
weather conditions are encountered.
Beams are rot-proof and offer a draught-proof floor. They can be used in moderate to severe exposure areas,
in wet/dry areas, even below D.P.C. level.
Suitable for first floor in housing where using a separating concrete floor reducing noise transmission between first and ground floors, together with blockwork partitions separating rooms.
Fire ratings of half an hour are inherent with the beam and one hour ratings are easily achieved with finishes.

Beam and Block Flooring
Beam and block flooring has been developed to provide a highly practical yet east to install suspended flooring system. This method of construction overcomes many onsite difficulties such as costly excavation and consolidation of backfill prior to the placing of oversite concrete.
Whilst the 155mm and 175mm deep beams are extensively used in housing developments the 225mm deep beam is designed for more demanding applications such as flats, offices, schools, light industrial and retail developments allowing for increased load bearing and larger spans.
The system can be used just as effectively at first and subsequent floor levels as well as ground floors. Ease of installation is coupled with greatly improved sound and thermal insulation properties as well as enhanced fire protection.
